The HellCats
1999-2000
With their love of Rock-a-Billy music, Guitarist/Songwriter Steve Zapinski (Ten Lost Tribes) along with Kevin on Bass and Terry Smith (Helicon) formed The Hellcats. A fun and refreshing Rock-a-Billy trio that in its short time cut a local CD on Jefro Records entitled "The Hellcats, There and Back".
Kevin was nominated for best "Best Country Songwriter" and "Best Country Instrumentalist" in the 1999 Motor City Music Awards, and The Hellcats performed many Swing and Rock-a-Billy shows at JD's Macomb Theater (The Emerald), among other local venues, ultimately ending up as the "House band" at "Sherrys on Vernor".
